This is what I found on a search, thought it would give you some ideas on how to do your "Bra" pruse. You can also find bras at your local thrift store. After a good washing, they are great for making purses.

I have a niece Going into the hospital in June and I think that purse would be great if i can make it to hold things. I made some paper dolls and she could store them in it. It is soooooo pretty.
Re: A pretty pink purse card pattern -- Pat J, 15:33:09 03/01/05 Tue [1]

I make purse cards and my daughter in Vancouver, Wa. sells them in her vintage shop. This one is really pretty. The pattern, can be connected so that when you cut it, it's one piece and the flap is folded over. Hope I am not confusing anyone.

Subject: Juice pouch purse ???

Sorry if the is a duplicate post, I seem to be having a problem posting. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone sells these purses at shows and how much to you charge. I have had some requests for some and have no idea what to sell them for. Thanks in advance.

Re: Juice pouch purse ??? -- KrafteeKaren, 11:21:18 03/01/05 Tue [1]

I make the purses when I have the time, lol. Most of the ones that I have seen aren't lined and don't have pockets in the but I line mine, put pockets in them (both sides), put plastic in the handles so that they will hold up a little better, etc. Depending on the size the price range is anywhere from $15-$30. Hope that this helps, if not, just email me.
Hugs
Re: Juice pouch purse ??? -- grandmalynn, 13:12:20 03/01/05 Tue [1]

Hi, I have been selling the KoolAid purses since early December. Mine aren't lined like Karens are, but I do charge less for them. These prices are with the boas, without is $2.00 less. I also use 1 inch web belting. 2x1 = $12.50, 3x1 = $14.50, 2x2 = $20, 3x2 = $24. I have a price list typed out with prices. If you would like to adapt the sheet, just e-mail me. Just give me a little time to answer, as I do work nights. Lynn

Subject: Drink Pouch purse and wallet directions please

I am looking for directions to make a wallet out of drink pouches, like Capri Sun or Kool-Aid. I have made a couple of bags, and they are so cute, but does anyone have a pattern, or directions for a wallet?

[> Re: Drink Pouch purse and wallet directions please -- virginia, 17:26:00 07/21/05 Thu [1]

How do you make the purses, please?
Thanks. va

If I remember right we discussed this a couple months ago I bet if you gals look in the archives you will find directions. Good Luck

I've looked in the archive, I can find directions on the purse, but not a wallet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

MaryP...here is some pictures of different ones that I just found while doing a search. If you go to accessories you can see pictures of different ones, maybe you can get an idea how to make them from that.

With this gift we say,
Thank You to you,

[> Re: Poem for purse tissue holders -- MertVnWV, 20:42:33 08/31/05 Wed [1]

Laurel, just wondering. Were you in the End of Summer Swap? I got one of the tissue holders in my swap and I just loved it. Was needing one of these. I hate that I can't remember who made these for the swap. As soon as I saw it I took it out of the package and put it in my purse.
I have made about 20 of them myself.... they are so simple to make. I printed out a scripture verse on sticker paper and stuck it a cellophane bag and placed the tissue holder inside the bag. Another option: print the scripture verse on paper and cut out as a strip and wrap it around the tissue holder and tape the paper at the "meeting ends."
The scripture that I used was: Psalms 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
These could be given to someone who is having a hard time and in need of encouragement.
I loved all the poems AND the wrapper that the others did for you!
Mert

I was in the red, white, and blue swap but I made pot holders. I am glad that you liked the tissue holder though, that means others should too. (Although, I am not make these for the swap.) Laurel

I would think it could be glued on with a strong epoxy glue.I don't think
hot glue would adhere to the metal closure.

Susie...I hope gluing these work for you, but be careful. On one of the
posted sites there are instructions for making coin purses (not the sock
ones) & the instructions say to put the material in the clasp and use pliers
to crimp the clasp shut. Please let us know if glueing works. The clasps are a bit expensive if we're making them to sell. CJ

Subject: sock purses post??

Hello everyone...
I searched all the pages for the sock purses...even the archives...missed it somewhere...
There was a list of sites to buy the top frames..I have socks and no clip frames...thought I had saved it...
it also had listed the gift shop in Ohio where you could purchase the sock purses ready made..I have that...
I know the postee asked for a poem for the socks..
I only have this one in my files..no author...
Hope someone saved the post or can tell me if it is in the archives...
Thanks...
valerie

Poem

Thought I'd sock it to ya
With a gift that you'll adore!
The more you jam into the toe,
The richer you will grow!
Just toss your spare change in it,
Some loose bills now and then
Your sock will soon want to be a stock,
And saving will not be such a chore!

Thank you so much...I ordered the sock purses from Ohio..they are soooo adorable...The top frames are expensive..comes to $2.70 apiece + postage...and then + the socks or fabric...
Can anyone come up with another poem for the sock purses..?
The poem above has no author...
Happy crafting..

I found the frames at SChrocks International. 2 inch frames are $1.50 and 3 1/2 inch frames are $2.50.. I was first introduced to this company at a craft show from a crafter. I have shared this company to others. They are not online...yet...but they do send a free 150 page catalog. I find it hard to beat their prices anywhere. THey ship right away... call toll free 1 800 426 4659..they ship from Bolivar Ohio...Prices beat Boleks which was the company I used for a long time.

sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with you sock coin purse. I did not use pliers to close them. what i did was first i cut a small slit down the two sides of the sock (approx. one inch) then i put a small amount of hot glue in the space on the closure. i then used a small pair of scissors and pressed the top edge of the sock into that space. next i then took a few stitches in each side where the holes were to reinforce.
hope this helps.

purse brooch pattern

Date Posted: 19:54:38 04/22/06 Sat
Author: birdhousebonnie
Subject: purse brooch pattern wanted

Does anyone have a pattern for the little pocketbooks that are actually pins? The class was being taught at Michaels and they are little purses decorated in any way you like with a beaded handle. The basic purse is what I am looking for. It looks like fabric covered cardboard or something like cardboard. This is way harder to explain that it looks. It is folded over on top and it looks like it would actually open. Some were decorated in feathers, beads, buttons, etc. to look like a regular purse, only they are only about two inches square or so. Very cute! Bonnie

Here is a template for a purse pin. Don't know if this will help with what you are looking for.

That sounds so cute! I went to the Michael's main site & found nothing about it there. Sure hope someone can help you as it sounds like an adorable purse to make, & in time for Mother's day, too.

You can use dominoes for the same effect....

That is such a cute idea.
I like both, using the tag and the dominos.
Do you think someone could come up with a poem for them!
Thanks for any help.

[> Re: purse brooch pattern wanted -- Shirttails, 08:36:04 04/24/06 Mon [1]

I'm not at the right house or in the right state right now. I Know that Crafts magazine had a purse pin made with fabric stretched over paper. It was the cutest pin. I have it in a folder at my other house and I won't be there until the middle of May. Sure hope I don't forget to post it. If someone has a better memory, email me the middle of May. The magazine would be 2 years back or so.

[> Re: purse brooch pattern wanted -- j, 18:42:09 04/25/06 Tue [1]

Please - when I went to the link you posted, it came up 'error'. I really would like to see this idea - what am I doing wrong?

Kathy, what is a tag purse?

Thanks for your fun ideas.

[> Re: purse brooch pattern wanted -- kathy, 19:07:03 04/25/06 Tue [1]

The tag is what is used to make the purse and it's template is on the 2nd posting up there by Kaydee. It looks like you fold the #5 tag into 3rds and decorate it. There wasn't any real picture just the tag drawing with the folding lines.
It doesn't even say if it's glued. But I thought it would be cute if you could open it up with a little poem inside about thinking about you, or friendship. I started another thread asking for poems, but no answers yet.

Thanks, Kathy. Now I understand. I have a tag stencil & can make different tops on the tag. Those are soooo simple! The handle could be embroidery floss, wire, ribbon, strung beads, etc. Buttons, gems, ribbon roses, etc. could be glued on the flap for the 'clasp'.

Kaydee, I did not mean to overlook your link. Thanks for posting it.

I'm still hoping that someone could come up with some poems!!!

Alma, the poem on that site is so swesome! Great to go with any type of purse. Love it! Thank so much - (((hugs)))

Annie, I am as always - learning new things, not tending the grands so much because of gas prices, DH changing jobs, etc. Think of you often - (((hugs)))

I was trying to read the poem--am I reading the last 2 lines wrong?? I read "you've simply got being, a good friend in the bag" Didn't make much sense to me.

[> Re: purse brooch pattern wanted -- Jan in TN, 10:08:29 04/29/06 Sat [1]

Great idea, does anyone have a poem, maybe for friends, family and etc? Thanks, Jan

[> Re: purse brooch pattern wanted -- j, 10:21:41 04/29/06 Sat [1]

Terri, yeah, I know - that line caught me off guard, too. Perhaps it needs to be read like this:
you've simply got 'being a good friend' (pause) in the bag.

Maybe the wording could be changed so it isn't so awkward, no offense to the poet.

I love the little purse and would like to make a few with the easy sewing class i am doing with our church youth group How did you finish it? Just cut it out close to edge? or did u hem it someway?

[> Re: A real POCKETbook - for little girls -- Gracie, 09:30:22 06/28/06 Wed [1]
Instructions
All I did was cut the pocket off the pants, cutting the pocket and the piece of pants that is the inside of the pocket, so you already have a pocket. I cut it as close to the pocket as I can but I do leave as much of the fabric on the back side pocket on the top.(are you with me?) Enough to turn under to attach another piece of jean. From a leg I cut another piece of jean material to make another back piece of the pocket, this gives the jean material some weight. The other leg I cut out the strap. This size all depends on what size you want. Once all the pieces are together I sew them together, fold the extra material down so you have a finished edge on the top. pocket, handle and then the back pocket. Then trim. I hope this is not confusing. I'm here if it is, just ask questions! I'm not good at typing directions, hahaha
